Prosecutors in federal court say Caprice Foster, 51, and Marcus Foster, 33, stole the identities of at least nine victims.
According to prosecutors, the couple made false identification documents such as social security cards and driver’s licenses in other people’s names as well as fabricated tax and employment documents. Using the stolen identities, they opened fraudulent bank accounts and deposited stolen and altered checks into these accounts. Court documents indicated Marcus Foster impersonated victims in state court eviction proceedings to continue their stays in residences they fraudulently leased.
MERRIFIELD, VA — A Merrifield real estate agent and her husband were sentenced for a fraud scheme in which they benefited from using victims’ personal information.Prosecutors in federal court say Caprice Foster , 51, and Marcus Foster , 33, stole the identities of at least nine victims. The personal identifying information was stolen mainly through Caprice Foster ‘s work as a real estate agent and timeshare salesperson. The couple then used the personal information to fraudulently buy a luxury vehicle, lease high-end residences , and obtain loans and credit .According to prosecutors, the couple made false identification documents such as social security cards and driver’s licenses in other people’s names as well as fabricated tax and employment documents.
